  • 3D Character Design

    We have access to a number of 3D and Cinema 4D Sculpture Engines. These allow young artists to create characters, objects, environments in three dimensions like they are working with clay and paint them before moving into the animation pipeline. We train on the same solutions used by editors, filmmakers, motion designers, visual effects artists and creators of all types

  • Meta Humans

    Meta Humans

    Our mentors are expert at creating MetaHumans from an existing 3D mesh using the Mesh to MetaHuman workflows in our engines. The Plugins we use provide ways to create custom MetaHumans without using a MetaHuman Preset or MetaHuman Creator.

  • 3D Streetwear Design

    Design 3D characters with stylised casual sportswear and accessories perfect for RPG, Battle Royale, shooter, FPS type games

  • Polygon Modelling

    Polygonal modelling is a 3D modelling approach that utilises edges, vertices and faces to form models. Our modellers work with mentees to start with simple shapes and add details to build on them to create three-dimensional models, like the baseball hat show above. Polygons are useful for constructing many types of 3D models and are widely used in the development of 3D content for animated effects in film and interactive video games.

  • Hard Surface 3D Weapon Design

    Lets face it, many game franchises and action movies need solid firepower. We can work with with our mentees to work on intricate sculpting and hard surface rendering of 3D obejcts such as weapons, or vehicles which can then be brought into games or movie scenes.

  • Aeroplane Modelling

    Are you a history and WWII enthusiast? Would you like to try making a WWII dive bomber? You could start a project including skeletal and static mesh parts including highly-detailed cockpit components, as well as multiple camouflages, decals, animations, and animation blueprints.

  • 3D Train Modelling

    Are you interested in trains, would you like to make some good looking trains for your game? Trains can be made in fairly low-poly for the level of detail they have. We can work with you to create trains that have a lot of cool details to look at, even while zoomed-in, so they can be used in FPS games as a main object.

  • 3D Painting

    Because our software works with tens of millions of polygons in real-time, mentees can experience painting directly on the surface of the 3D model without first assigning a texture map or UV’s. This offers significant advantages compared to a standard workflow. The resolution of the texture map does not need to be decided in advance. They have the freedom to visualize, explore and create textures in 3D, and in real time. It is a deeply calming and satisfying activity to work in such intricate artistic detail.

  • 3D Game Environmental Design and Rendering

    We can help young people create environments from scratch. We also have created Terrain Prefabricated items that young people can use as the foundations of their game environment. These types of enviroments are currently used for leading video games and a large number of movies and shows to improve visuals and reduce production costs.

  • Movie Environment Design and Rendering

    With the engines we use gaming and movies are becoming one big industry of art! The engines we used are behind environments created for scenes in the new such as the mandalorian from star wars.

  • UEFN - Unreal Editor for Fortnite

    Our mentors can work with you on Unreal Editor for Fortnite. This is a new way to design, develop, and publish content into Fortnite that takes advantage of the Unreal Editor’s development workflows and proven PC-based toolset.

  • Roblox Engine Avatars

    Many younger adolescents spend a lot of time on Roblox. Many will build their own avatar from exiting items that are available. Our team can connect and support your child by helping them design their own items and even make them available in the Roblox store. Whilst we work with Roblox as a development studio this only provides training for building in Roblox which can be limiting. We therefore work with other open game development platforms which provides greater opportunity for growth.

  • Minecraft Modding

    Plenty of our kids are in love with Minecraft. Whilst we help our mentees improve their gaming skills and improve their knowledge of how to use in-game command blocks, we can take this one step further by helping kids to develop their own mods for Minecraft which their gaming buddies can experience too!

  • 2D Animation

    Embrace our industry leading drawing Tools, capable of supporting both vector and bitmap formats for unlimited creative freedom. Animate your gaming or movie assets using advanced puppets (cutout and rigging) or traditionally with frame by frame animation.

  • 2D Animation Rigging

    We can help you create characters using vector illustration, then build animation through adding limbs with deformers to create the joint flexibility you require for your creation!

  • Animated Environment

    Our drawing tools support creation of animation environment with scene timing, foregrounds/backgrounds providing the ability to then import characters that have been created and then use them within the scene

  • 2D Game Creation

    Through the use of digital sprite assets created by you or through using existing assets, we walk through the fundamentals of creating and publishing your very first 2D game!

What is reality? Experience the Matrix through the Game Design Engines we work with.

An outstanding example of Metahumans. This boundary-pushing technical demo is an original concept set within the world of Warner Bros' The Matrix. Written and cinematically directed by Lana Wachowski, it features Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity and—in a reality-flipping twist—also playing themselves.

Award-winning short film The Voice in the Hollow takes real-time animation to dark places

Animation can take a village, but you don’t need hundreds of people to make something great. Just look at The Voice in the Hollow. From the titles on, you can tell you are looking at something unique. What you might not know is that this isn’t the work of a major studio. It’s a passion project created by a small team of professionals who are using real-time tools to fast-track projects, creating the type of intriguing visuals that would stun viewers even without a great story guiding them. Thankfully, they have that, too.

Lighthouse Studios on capturing the experience of hearing loss in El Deafo

l Deafo is a BAFTA-winning adaptation of Cece Bell’s New York Times best-selling graphic memoir of the same name, based on the author’s own childhood experiences of growing up with a sudden loss of hearing. The animated mini-series tells the story of a young girl named Cece who is learning to navigate the world after an illness causes her to suddenly lose her hearing. Unable to find her voice, Cece creates an alter-ego called El Deafo to advocate for her in her imagination, and uses these fantasies to build her confidence to make friends and stand up for herself in the real world.
